American literature

American literature is a picturesque collection of adventure novels, detective stories, autobiography, stories... it includes authors who produced most of their works in America.

Indeed, the first American novels were published at the end of the 18th century and the beginning of the 19th. These first novels were mostly female productions for a female audience. One of the earliest novels was Susanna Rowson's Charlotte Temple.

3- The Wonderful Wizard of Oz

This novel published in 1900 in the United States by Lyman Frank Baum is known by almost everyone. Originally written for young people, many adults have read it and enjoyed it very much.

4- For Whom the Bell Tolls

Great success of this dear Ernest Hemingway, this novel was adapted to the cinema and the theater. The novel recounts the adventures of an American professor Robert Jordan who was sent on a mission to Castile. His mission was to destroy a bridge to prevent enemy forces from entering their territory. Will he succeed in this mission? You'll have to read it to find out.

5- The Grapes of Wrath

Published in 2021 by John Steinbeck, this novel follows the adventures of the Joads who are forced to leave Oklahoma because of the degrading living conditions.
